I have worked for Family Eye Health Center for eight years and have worked in the optometric field for seventeen years. I enjoy being a part of a Great Team that delivers exceptional eye care. I am married to my wonderful husband Shawn. We have a beautiful blended family which includes a son, two daughters and a fur baby. We have 4 amazing grandchildren which we love to spoil. Business Supervisor / Insurance

My name is Molly and I work in the Business Office here at Family Eye Health Center. I have had the pleasure of working here for 4 years. I have been married to my best friend of 42 years and we have two beautiful daughters and three wonderful grandchildren in Florida. Business Office

Amy is the proud mom of two beautiful girls and wife to a wonderful husband. She has a BA in Church Ministry, runs an Etsy shop, and has worked in the optometry field in various capacities for over 26 years. She loves working with patients to make sure their optometric experience is the best that it can be.

Patient Coordinator

I grew up and currently reside in Des Moines, Iowa. I graduated from Hamilton College in 2005 with my Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. I have been married to my husband for 11 years and we have 3 children. My husband and I also have our pastoral licensure with Open Bible Churches where we have begun pursuing marriage and family ministries. I have been blessed to be able to play on our church's worship team where I play the keyboard and sing. Through different stages of my life I have also studied Judo and Taekwondo. Dorothy

Optometric Technician Supervisor

My name is Dorothy. I have been working with Dr. Scott for the past 15 years. I have been in the eye care profession for the past 20 years. My responsibilities include pretesting, special testing, patient reports and doctor correspondence. In my off time I enjoy spending with my grandchildren, playing with my dog (Spanky) or reading. Patient Coordinator

I started with Family Eye Health Center June of 2024.  I can’t start my day off without coffee!  Being a receptionist, I need all the energy I can get.  I enjoy going to the lake, walking trails, doing crafts and playing with my fur babies (cats).  I love spending time with nature, with God and my family and friends.  I also work part time for the city of Des Moines helping set up events and kiddo/adult sports which keeps me busy when I am not answering your call or checking you in and out from your appointment.

Optical Supervisor

Amy has been in the optical field for 10 years.  I love styling frames with patients either to give them a new look or a better fit for their specific vision needs.  I am knowledgeable in the best products available and as part of the optometric team will help you achieve the best vision possible!  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  Please come in and see our new optical department and check out some of the new frame lines.  I look forward to helping you achieve your optical needs.

Optometric Technician

I am an optometric technician with over 10 years of experience in the industry.  I love helping patients learn about their eyes and any conditions they may be experiencing.  When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, tending to our garden and chickens, listening to live music and reading.

Patient Coordinator

I have been with Family Eye Health Center, since June 2024.  Though I am newer here I have been in the secretarial field for over 24 years.  I grew up in Kansas and currently reside in Indianola.  My hobbies include hiking, reading, hunting, ice fishing and shed hunting.  I look forward to greeting everyone and making your visit enjoyable.

John

Optometric Technician

I grew up in Altoona, graduating from SE Polk High School and from the University of Iowa with a degree in Interdepartmental Health Sciences as well as two minors.  I have previously worked as a CNA in the medical field and delivered vital medical supplies wherever needed in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  As someone who is new to the eye healthcare industry, I am super excited to get my start here with so many great people to work with and learn from!  My responsibilities include pretesting, special and diagnostic tests, patient reporting, and corresponding with the doctors to make sure our patients’ eye health is the best it can be!  In my free time I like spending time with my family, relaxing with a movie or video games, playing with my kittens (Luna and Mya), or reading/studying further in my favorite subjects (anatomy/physiology).  I enjoy getting to know our patients and I look forward to seeing you and helping to keep your eyes as health as possible in the future!  You can reach me at:  This email address is being protected from spambots.
